Being the Admin in Your Business
Thursday Feb 17, 2022
Thursday Feb 17, 2022
What tasks does the admin in your business do? Does this role involve you? So far, we have covered the role of CEO, the big picture thinker, and the technician is the doer and the deliverer. This week we will be discussing your role as your business' admin. Not only will we be defining the role of an admin, but I also want to emphasize the different tasks an admin does and how you can prevent burnout in your future employees.
" If you find that you are scheduling the appointments, booking the travel, doing the research, and looking for the files. If you're doing all these things, there's a good chance that you're not doing the revenue-generating things that are going to grow your business." - Gwendolyn Young.
Role tips shared in this episode:
- Recapping the three roles (1:00)
- Defining the admin role (2:22)
- Finding support for your business (3:36)
- Tasks to delegate to an administrative assistant (4:12)
Are you doing the tasks that an admin could do? Are you ready to put on your CEO hat and delegate work so that you can focus on the revenue-generating tasks to move your business? If you missed the other two roles, make sure to check out the previous two episodes to learn more about getting closer to embracing your role as a CEO. As always, I would love to hear where you are in your business and how the show is helping you lead behind the scenes!

Being the Technician in Your Business
Thursday Feb 17, 2022
Thursday Feb 17, 2022
Do you find yourself doing more hands-on work in your business even though you're the CEO? Last week we discussed and defined the role of a CEO. In this episode, we will be explaining the technician, and I want to share with you just three simple shifts that you can make to move more into the CEO role and away from the role as a technician.
"While it's necessary to be the technician in your business, which is the door, remember you're doing, you're selling, all of those things. The goal is not to get stuck there. Otherwise, what you've done is just created a job for yourself and not a business. " - Gwendolyn Young.
Shifts shared in this episode:
- Defining the technician in a business (1:25)
- Become intentional with your time (2:43)
- Getting comfortable with delegating (3:12)
- Find this person in your business (4:15)
Are you feeling closer to your role as a CEO? It can be so hard to roll our sleeves back down and step away from the more hands-on work as a technician, but your business will genuinely thank you for letting go of that control! I would love to hear where you are in your business and how the show is helping you lead behind the scenes!

So, You Want To Be A CEO
Thursday Feb 17, 2022
Thursday Feb 17, 2022
Do you call yourself a CEO but aren't performing the tasks of a CEO? It is so easy to start a freelancing business and call ourselves a CEO; however, when we are solopreneurs buried in client work, sometimes we don't get to perform the tasks of a CEO. It isn't until our businesses start growing that we realize we are well versed in the day-to-day tasks and decisions of a CEO. In today's episode, I want to encourage you and challenge you to start performing the functions of a CEO now.
"If you are just always working, working, working, working, and never taking that time to evaluate, plan and strategize, then you are not being the CEO in your business." - Gwendolyn Young.
CEO tips shared in this episode:
- Are you really a CEO in your business (1:10)
- What a CEO is responsible for (2:40)
- An example of testing your role (4:36)
- What you can do to embrace your role (5:49)
- Don't make these mistakes (7:29)
- Understanding your target (9:24)
- Be prepared on all bases (9:42)
- Count the cost (10:25)
Are you performing the tasks of the CEO in your business? Or are you so busy in the day-to-day and not blocking out time? I hope this episode leaves you feeling affirmed or motivated in your role as the CEO of your business. If you need to take action and start strategically implementing these tips, let me know! I would love to hear where you are in your business and how the show is helping you lead behind the scenes!
